New Virtual Library Book Checkout Program

The TJ Library is ready to begin a trial run of book requests and pickups.


Students will learn how to place holds on books during their next Library Encore Class. Students need to LOG IN to Destiny Discover to place a hold.

Students can put up to 4 books on hold at a time. Parents will receive an email notice when books are available to pick up. Not all requested books will be available at the same time, it depends on availability. The library catalog (Destiny Discover) might say your book is ready to pick up, please ignore that and wait to receive an email from Ms. Liang.


Students can have up to 4 books checked out at a time. If any book is overdue by 1 month, this will block checkouts until that book is returned.


Door 14 will be the pickup location. This is the door closest to the orange and blue “little library”, just up the hill from the main entrance.  You may know this area as the Third Grade Hallway.

Pickup times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30-4:00. Books will be available for pickup for 3 pickup days. If they are not claimed after 3 pickup days, the holds will be removed and the books made available to other students.

Book bundles will be marked/noted with a last name, first initial. Someone will be at the door to help you. Face coverings must be worn while picking up books; only one person should approach the pickup area. Please respect social distancing.


Please return books as soon as possible so that other students may enjoy them as well. Collection bins will be outside on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30-4:00pm and a collection bin will be inside the main entrance door during TJ office hours (you will have to be buzzed in but do not have to enter the office).

Students will learn how to put books on hold during their next library class. Holds will open to all students on September 8, 2020 and we will try out this system until October 9, 2020. At that point we will evaluate the program.
